Planet Aggie News Archive 11/16/2008 Well, this time I was gone for longer than expected. The hard drive troubles and a move to Las Vegas really threw me behind. I know this isn't in the Spirit of Christmas, but for all of those people that think the bonfire's less than 10,000 tree construction is a waste of trees, maybe the Christmas Tradition that has hundreds of millions of trees "wasted" every year should be canceled. Especially since these Christmas trees are not re-planted and not scheduled to be cut down with or without Christmas as are the bonfire trees. This must be okay, since it is a religious tradition? Aggies, don't get me wrong, I am only being sarcastic. I believe both Traditions are good, bond-building, family-strengthening, value-adding traditions. I would also give both up to bring back the 12 Aggies that perished in the accident. I want to be sure all of the "tree huggers" take a second look at their live Christmas tree before they invade Texas A&M's freedoms. |
