SUMMARY 

I've only worked for three employers in my life:  One in high school, one in college and one after college.  I hope that speaks more about who I am than some carefully crafted BS paragraph.

WORK EXPERIENCE 

GraybaR Electric Co., Inc.                                                                 September 1991 to Present      

Branch Manager:  Oklahoma City, OK  March 2003 to Present

Managed a 35 employee sales, service and operations branch.  Responsible for sales of electrical, security and communications products to a variety of markets.

National Pricing Manager:  Clayton, MO (Corporate)   November 2001 to February 2003   

Plan, implement, analyze, manage and monitor numerous pricing strategies.   

E-Business Manager: Clayton, MO (Corporate)                   March 2000 to October 2001

Plan, suggest and participate in and manage many of Graybar’s Corporate E-Business initiatives,  including Web design, e-commerce, Internet marketplaces, EDI, supplier’s e-business plans and projects, and other E-Business services.  Currently, I am the Project Manager for our e-commerce upgrade initiative, and I have in-depth knowledge of the market leading e-business and content management products.   I constructed a sales-force assisting cross-reference program that crosses over 230,000 electrical and telecommunications products. 

National Product Specialist: Clayton, MO (Corporate)   March 1999 to February 2000                   

Respond to field questions and problems, create database queries and reports using DSS, Business Objects, Access and Excel, analyze inventory, pricing structures, profitability, data, products, etc.  Trained four other Product Specialists in my position.  Corrected nationwide pricing problems.  Directly reported to the Sr. Vice President, Electrical Business on a special inventory control project for our Houston Zone and Houston Distribution Center just prior to my promotion into my current position. 

Branch Manager: Abilene, TX                                              November 1994 to February 1999    

Managed a twelve-employee office, counter and warehouse.  Supervised all customer service, sales, pricing, shipping, receiving, specials, invoicing, returns, hiring, firing, etc.  Made sales calls with salespeople to stress our service capabilities.  Improved morale, sales, margin rate, gross and net profits dramatically.  Received ISO 9002 certification during my tenure.  In this position, I was responsible for the sales of Electrical (wire, conduit, circuit breakers, light bulbs, etc.), Telecommunications (Phones, Fiber, Phone Jacks, Termination Blocks, etc.), and Data (Network Hubs, Category 5 Cable, Cable Tray, Telecommunication Racks, etc.) 

Customer Service Representative: Austin, TX                      July 1992 to October 1994      

Inside sales for Austin's major industrial and comm./data customers.  Provided sales, service and technical help for major accounts such as:  3M, IBM, AMD, Fisher Controls, Motorola, Rolm Systems, and Carroll Systems.  Experience includes both electrical and telecommunications products. 

Management Trainee: Dallas, TX                              September 1991 to June 1992                      

Hired-on at Graybar Dallas in the Texas Instruments integrated supply program.  Was one of two people running a single location.  Handled every piece of the order process:  Sales, Service, Purchasing, Receiving and Delivery. 

EDUCATION 

Texas A&M University:  B.S. in Journalism, minor in English.  Degree emphasis on Marketing and Advertising. 

American Mensa Member Since August 1999.

COMPUTER SKILLS 

Proficient in use of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, MS Front Page, MS Internet Explorer, Netscape Communicator and BusinessObjects.  Typing in excess of 70 wpm.  Thorough working knowledge of both IBM and Macintosh computer systems, software and hardware.  Basic knowledge of HTML language and BASIC computer language.


Hobbies/Interests/Skills

Anything Texas A&M:  Especially my web page PlanetAggie.  Making people laugh, building high performance engines (I haven't for some time now), hacking golf, hacking computers (nothing malicious), tennis, beer bowling, traveling, tent camping and writing poetry and short stories. I can type over 70 wpm without error.
